Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following war: World War II (WWII). Contains photographs of the 845th Engineer Aviation Battalion. General description of the collection: The George H. Olds photograph collection contains photos of the officers and men of the 845th Engineer Aviation Battalion, their activities, and also scenes in Italy and France near the end of WWII. Bologne, Naples, Pesaro, Pisa, Rome, Milan and Venice in Italy are seen from a soldier's (G.I.'s) view while on recreation and recuperation (R & R). Likewise, the photos of France are of the countryside through which the unit traveled. There are a few photos showing men of the 845th in a semi-fixed camp and their vehicles there. There are no "action" or warlike photos in the collection.
